FAQs
What makes Ascent Aid different from a standard first aid kit?
1
Ascent Aid kits are purpose-built for climbing and vertical terrain. Equipment is selected around realistic climbing injuries and emergencies, then organized into a compact, harness-ready system designed to be usable when space, weight, and time matter.
The Solo™ is our most compact option for climbers who want essential medical capability with minimal bulk. The Simul™ expands that capability for partnered and multi-pitch objectives. The Guide™ provides our most comprehensive medical and emergency loadout for guides, instructors, trained responders, and more committing objectives.

Are Ascent Aid kits harness-ready and waterproof?
3
Ascent Aid kits are designed for use in climbing and vertical environments, with a compact, harness-ready design and water-resistant construction. They’re built to handle the realities of outdoor use, but should not be considered fully waterproof or submersible.
Do I need medical training to use an Ascent Aid kit?
4
You don't need professional medical credentials to carry one, but some equipment requires knowledge and training to use appropriately. We strongly encourage climbers to pursue wilderness first aid or other relevant medical training and to use equipment only within their level of training.
Yes. Consumable medical supplies should be replaced after use and inspected regularly for damage, contamination, or expiration. Check out The Re-Rack™ to replace commonly used supplies and get your kit ready for the next objective.
Can I refill my kit after I use something?

What injuries are Ascent Aid kits designed for?
